Sumilon Bluewater Cebu Package Tours
Sumilon Bluewater Cebu Promo
Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort is located on tranquil Sumilon Island. The Island remains as one of Cebu‘s best kept secrets and is found on the southeastern tip of the mainland. It is 125 kilometers from Cebu City and is in close proximity to Dumaguete. The island has an area of 24 hectares and is surrounded by crystal clear waters with varying aquamarine hues. It is the first marine protected area in the Philippines and was made a fish sanctuary in 1974 under the guidance of Siliman University Marine Reserve. During dives, one will find varied marine species and even occasional sightings of black tip sharks. Pristine white sand beaches are situated in different areas in Sumilon.
Its sandbar is well known for its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island, depending on the season. On the island, there is a natural lagoon teeming with high mangroves. There are also natural caves where fishermen used to seek refuge. On the southside, a lighthouse rests on a protected tree park. Beside it is a Baluarte, a historical watchtower built as part of a warning system to thwart slavers and marauders in the 19th century.

🎒Pack light
Packing light means more freedom — you can move easily and quickly between the airport, hotel and tours. Choose versatile, quick-dry clothes for Cebu's warm, humid weather.
🧳Bring carry-on only if you can
Skipping checked luggage saves time at the baggage claim and avoids delayed or lost bags. Check your airline's hand-carry size and weight limit before you fly — local airlines are strict at the counter.
🛂Complete your travel documents early
Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay. Arriving in or leaving the Philippines on an international flight? Register on the official eTravel portal (etravel.gov.ph) before your flight — always check the latest entry rules.
📄Keep digital copies
Save photos of your passport, IDs, tickets, hotel vouchers and insurance in your email or cloud storage, so you can get them from any phone if the originals are lost.
💊Essentials in your hand-carry
Keep medicines, valuables, chargers and electronics with you. Power banks and spare lithium batteries must go in your hand-carry — airlines do not allow them in checked bags.
💳Money & payments
Tell your bank about your travel dates so your card isn't blocked abroad. Cards work in malls and hotels, but carry some Philippine pesos in cash for small shops, tricycles, tips and island trips.
📶Stay connected
Buy a local SIM or eSIM at the airport for data and calls. Philippine SIMs must be registered with a valid ID — the airport counters can help you do it on the spot.
☀️Sun, sea & weather
Use reef-safe sunscreen, wear a hat and drink plenty of water. June to November is the rainy / typhoon season, so keep your plans flexible and check the weather before island trips.
🛡Get travel insurance
Choose a policy that covers medical care, trip delays and cancellations — especially useful for boat trips that can be cancelled by weather.
🩹Bring a small first-aid kit
Plasters, motion-sickness tablets for boat rides, insect repellent and basic medicine can save your day — and maybe help a fellow traveler too.
